A total of 1,619 prospective new students that came from 889 SMA/SMK/MA scattered in Indonesia conducted the re-registration in Campus of Diploma Program, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Kumbang Street No. 14 Bogor (22-25/6). They were participants who passed in the selection of new admissions of Diploma Program of IPB of the path of the Invitation to Entrance Selection of IPB (USMI).
 
Deputy Director of Diploma Program of IPB of Resources, Cooperation and Development, Dr. D. Iwan Riswandi, said this year it was recorded 8,308 graduates of SMA/SMK/MA who registered to the selection of new admissions of Diploma Program of IPB through USMI path. The selection through this path considered the students’ grades for five semesters (semesters 1 to 5) as the main criteria for assessment. In addition to grades, the supporting document such as the student achievement was also taken into consideration in this selection path, including specific height and weight for Skill Program of Industrial Management of Food and Nutrition Services, and Skill Program of Ecotourism.  
 
This year, there were several Skill Programs with the high enthusiasts, i.e. Communication Skill Program, Agribusiness Management, Accounting, and Industrial Management of Food and Nutrition Services. “From 1,302 registrants of Communication Skill Program, of 155 registrants are accepted and re-registered. Of 160 from 989 registrants are accepted and re-registered in Skill Program of Agribusiness Management, 207 from 895 registrants of Skill Porgram of Accounting, and of 120 from 876 registrants are accepted and re-registered in Skill Program of Industrial Management of Food and Nutrition Services,” explained Dr. Iwan.
 
Further Dr. Iwan explained, the student admission quota through USMI was approximately 70 percent from the prospective new students of Diploma Program of IPB. The rest of the quota would be met through the regular selection which would be held on 9 August 2015 in nine cities, i.e. Cirebon, Tasikmalaya, Pekanbaru, Padang, Madiun, Magelang, Purwakarta, Medan and Pasuruan.  Moreover, the prospective students were as well as through the special cooperation program (taylor made) and the Regional Representative Scholarship (BUD).
