Commemoration of National Education Day (Hardiknas) in the Environment of IPB
Selection of academics achievers of the level of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in the year of 2015 was officially opened by Rector of IPB, Prof.Dr Herry Suhardiyanto, in the Commemoration Ceremony of National Education Day (Hardiknas), Saturday (2/5) in Rectorate Field of Campus of IPB Dramaga Bogor. Moreover, it was also announced a number of accomplisments that were achieved by the students of IPB, national and international levels. The Commemoration Ceremony of Hardiknas in the environment of IPB was followed by all leaders, lecturers, educational staff, Agrianita, and students.
National Education Day (Hardiknas) this year was with the theme of “Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan sebagai Gerakan Pencerdasan dan Penumbuhkembang Generasi Berkarakter Pancasila / Education and Culture as Intelligent and Growth and Development Movement of Character Generation of Pancasila”. As a Ceremonial Erector, the Rector read the mandate of Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education of RI which reminded us all how important today to improve the quality of higher education, research and innovation to increase the competitiveness of the nation.
In a moment, Asean Economic Community (MEA) would come into force. The flow of goods, skilled labor, and investment between ASEAN countries were becoming more freely. Societal expectations toward education were more increasing. Recently, the people thought that it was not enough for the university to be able to carry out the qualified higher education. Community hoped that the university was able to support the competitiveness of the nation through the innovative research that could provide the direct economic impact on the society.
On the other hand, the government through Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education would progressively provide support in the form of policy, program, and budget in order the university to be able to carry out the movement to improve the quality of higher education, research and innovation to support the competitiveness of the nation.(Awl)
