Direktorat Kemahasiswaan Institut Pertanian Bogor (Ditmawa IPB – Directorate of Student Affairs of Bogor Agricultural University)  organized "The 1st Biannual Returnee Seminar" on Saturday, 14 February 2015, at the Toyib Hadiwijaya auditorium of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dramaga Campus, Bogor. In this seminar, students IPB who have participated in various international events, who are then referred to as returnees, shared their valuable experiences with other IPB students. The seminar was intended to increase IPB students motivation to participate in various international events.

Resource persons for the seminar were the returnees who have made achievements and brought the higher reputations for IPB in various activities they regularly attended, such as Tri-University Joint Seminar, Symposiums and Six University Indonesia-Japan Initiative (SUIJI). The returnees who shared their valuable experiences in those seminar and meetings are currently members of student organizations which have participated actively in various international events, such as the IAAS, AIESEC, IDC and IFSA.

The special meeting was officially opened by the Director of Student Affairs, Dr. Rinekso Soekmadi. In his remarks, he stressed the importance of active participation of IPB students in various international events to improve their knowledges and soft skills, to prepare them to be the competitive generation in the international labor market.

Mini Expo on various international events were also held at Pinus Corridor, Faculty of Agriculture of IPB. Students were able interact more intensively with the returnees and obtain detail information on the procedures how to apply for joining international events.

This event was participated by approximately 500 participants, consisting of both the graduate and the undergraduate students of IPB. Biannual Returnee Seminar will be held bi-annually at the beginning of each semester. The objectives of this meeting are to increase the participation of IPB students on various international events, as well as  to push them to contribute program for the achievement of goals of IPB to produce excellent and highly competitive graduates.
