IPB and Babakan Village Should Think of Bogor Souvenir Center

The rise of traffic accidents due to negligence in driving was delivered by Head of Sectoral Police of Dramaga, Syaifudin Gayo, when presented in the event of Friday Tour of IPB in Babakan Village of Dramaga Sub-district (31/10). He delivered, "Many transportation drivers, motorists drive the vehicle in the state of drowsiness. For this month only, more than three times traffic accidents have occured."

Therefor, Head of Sectoral Police urged people to always be careful in driving. He also appealed to the public to always carry the identity. This was because it was often discovered that the traffic accident victims did not have the identity.

Related to many of travelers from other areas to Campus of IPB Dramaga, no doubt he was subjected to question travelers looking for souvenirs from Bogor. He suggested IPB to cooperate with Babakan Village and other villages around campus to think about the souvenir center and the souvenir for travelers who came from outside the region and even broad.

Deputy Head of Institute of Research and Community Services (LPPM) of IPB for the field of  Community Services, Dr. Hartoyo, conveyed in his welcome speech, "Friday Tour this year is the agenda in the village which is the fourteenth from 17 partnered villages of the campus of IPB. Friday Tour is the form of the relationship of IPB with the community and the Village Government for mutual brainstorming, communication, and sharing information in order to correct deficiencies and to provide solutions. IPB as one of the best public universities in Indonesia should be able to give benefits the community."

The presence of students around the community, especially Babakan Village, could also indirectly move the village economy. While it was still a positive or negative side. Therefor, Dr. Hartoyo hoped to people around, to participate in educating the students. Because education was not only for those in the university, but also it was for living in the community.

Meanwhile Head of Babakan Village, Syaehu, conveyed, that an event like this could continue to be made. "There is one side where the large numbers of people are potentially at a high crime rate. Hence, hopefully you can always coordinate with IPB and Sectoral Police of Dramaga. Besides, Babakan Village is also the main gate of the campus of IPB. Therefore, it is important to be empowering the village." dh
