The Concept of Green Constitution Has Not Well-Disseminated
Green Constitution or konstitusi hijau in Indonesian is the constitution of law enforcement for ecologically sustainable development. Therefore, this program is important for environmentally sound of sustainable development.
This issue was presented by Prof. Jimly Asshiddiqie, SH in his public lectures and discussions in the framework of the 9th Anniversary to the Faculty of Human Ecology (FEMA) and the 51st Anniversary of IPB in the GMSK Meeting Room, Dramaga campus, Bogor, recently.
Jimly explained, that the concept of green constitution has not well-disseminated and still unknown for public at large. According to him, the terminology and concepts of green constitution is a new phenomenon among practitioners and academicians working on environmental issues, including the legal and constitutional experts.
In the context of Indonesia, said Jimly, green constitution is reflected in the concept of power and human rights as well as the concept of economic democracy as defined in the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia in 1945, in article 28 H, paragraph 1 and Article 33, paragraph 4 "Development will be more focused, because it has a strong foothold in the legislation, "he said.
This public lecture was officially opened by the Dean of FEMA, Dr. Arif Satria, moderator for this special meeting was Dr. Suryo Adi Wibowo. Students, faculty members, staff members, as well as Academic Senate FEMA attended that interesting event. (Wied).
