Rector of IPB Released the Students of KKP IPB

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) implemented the Professional Working Course (KKP) as the implementation of Tridarma of University. The activity of KKP IPB carried the theme of “Pengintegrasian pendidikan dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam pengarusutamaan pertanian / Integrating the education and dedication to community in the mainstream of agriculture” with the sub theme taken “Optimalisasi pemanfaatan lahan pertanian dan pekarangan untuk mendukung kemandirian pangan nasional / Optimizing the use of agricultural land and its grounds to support the national food self-sufficiency”. The release of the students of KKP IPB was held in Saturday (28/6) in the field of Andi Hakim Nasoetion Campus of IPB Dramaga Bogor.

 

Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Ir.  Herry Suhardiyanto M.SC in his speech and in the release of the students of KKP said, “Must be integrated between education and community service in the mainstream of agriculture. Hopefully, the students of KPP IPB can give solutions or problem solving in the middle of the community especially the problem of agricultural production, means of trading system, agricultural production, public welfare, and environmental regulation. Moreover, the students must also maintain the ethics and the good name of IPB Alma mater in the community.”

 

Whereas Representative of Institute for Research and Community Service, Dr. Hartoyo, MS, conveyed, “KKP IPB is expected to be able to use as the vehicle for learning and student professional development, provide the benefits for the community in the location of KKP and contribute positively toward the economic growth in the region. And for the allocation of the student participants of Professional Working Course (KKP) IPB, the number is of 1,452 students, consisting of 4 faculties involved including, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Economic Management, and Faculty of Human Ecology departing to 18 locations in Indonesia (Bogor, Indramayu, Subang, Karawang, Bekasi, Tegal, Jombang, Cilacap, Natuna, West Sumbawa, Sukabumi, Garut, Bandung, Kuningan, Purwakarta, Muaraenim, Bojonegoro, and Kediri),” he explained.

 

It was expected that with the activity of KKP, it could mature the way of thinking, behaving, and acting and increase the reasoning power of the students of IPB in conducting the assessment, formulation, and solving problems in a comprehensive manner. (wal)
