The Launching of Bookon “KenanganBersamaAlmarhum Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Tb. SjafriMangkuprawira”

YayasanPengembanganInsanCita (YAPIC), the HimpunanMahasiswa Islam (HMI Muslim Students Association) Bogor chapter, Korps Alumni HimpunanMahasiswa Islam (KAHMI – Corps of Alumni Association of Islamic Students) Bogor, and IkatanCendikiawan Muslim Indonesia (ICMI – the Association of Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals) organized the Book Launching on "KenanganBersamaAlmarhum Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Tb. SjafriMangkuprawira”, at Mahogany Room, Graduate School of Business and Management, Bogor Agricultural University (MB-IPB), on Wednesday, 30 April 2014. The book was published by IPB Press, and was compiled by Dr. Ir. ApendiArsyad, M.Si, Dr. Ir. ElangIlikMartawijaya, MM, Ir. Tb.Nur Ahmad Maulana, MBA, M.Sc, Ph.D, and QikiQilangSyachbudy, SP.

 

This newly published book contains the flashback’ life of Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Tb. SjafriMangkuprawira, especially his moral messages and visions, as well as his scientific contributions for the communities, and his leaderships. Chairman of the Management Board’sof YayasanPengembanganInsanCita (YAPIC), Dr. Ir. ApendiArsyad, M.Siin  his remarks stated that the book contains 36 articles written by friends and family of the late Professor. SjafriMangkuprawira. "Based on the impressions and opinions given, we concluded that the Late Prof. SjafriMangkuprawirahad an excellent personality. Surely we should exemplify his sociallife for the community, especially his contribution for the advancement of the Indonesian education and his Islamicstruggle, "said Dr..Apendi.

 

Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Ir. HerrySuhardiyanto, MSc.stated,  "On behalf of the executive boards and all the university communities of IPB, I would like to thank you for convening this event. The kindness of the late Mr.Sjafriwas formed in his love and compassion for his wife, sons and daughters, in-laws, grandchildren and their relatives. They are also disseminated through various lecture notes, his books, his scientific articles, and as well as in the collection of thesisand  dissertationswritten by students under hissupervison, and every walk of life he had. "

 

"Bang Sjafriwas fairly close to anyone, both with senior and junior colleagues. He gave good examples for us as how to organize consultation  meeting and social as well. I followed the style of Bang Sjafri whenever he had consultation meeting with both his undergraduates and graduates students (under his supervision), he always made the atmosphere in such a way to enable students to exchange of information with him freely.  It’s really great experiences for us to learn from Bang Syafri ", said Chairman of the Presidium of the Regional KAHMI Bogor, Prof. AsepSaefuddin, M.Sc.

 

”YAPIC Advisory Board Chairman, Prof. Dr.Ir .SolehSolahuddin, M.Scin his remarks he stated his impression." I feel that today is so sentimental day. However, we also feel the optimism that always radiated from a Syafri whenever he faced any constraints he encounters in his jobs and his social life. I saw the good deeds of a Syafriwho was always looking for the harmony for every difference of opinions he met, as human those may cause deep gaps among them. That was the important rolesSyafriplayed as long as I know for about 50 years as we were admitted to IPB at the same year, on 1963 .Insya Allah, the life ofSyafri  will always inspire us. The legacy of the multidimensional Safri.Improving the quality of life is lifelong education. God blesses us the lightness of a room for us to move. It is us who will develop it according to our inner strength. There was nothing in the world to break the spirit of friendship. "

 

At the end of the event, YAPIC handedover booksfor the family who was represented by Prof. Dr. Ir. Aida VitayalaHubeis, and Prof. Hubeisthen handed over those books to  authors. Included in the items of the book launching was the Tausyiah, which was presented by Prof. Dr. KH. DidinHafidudin, MS (Chairman of Baznas RI) on "MenjadiHidupBermakna Nan Mulia di DuniadanAkhiratdalamPerspektif Al Quran dan As Sunnah(Having Meaningful Life both in the World and in the heaven as prescribed in the Qur’an and Sunnah)", poetry readings was done by Drs. H. SutanRamelius and entertainments were performed by Nasyid team from HMI.(Wied).
