Agrianita IPB Initiated the Community Care of Psoriasis

In commemoration of the Kartini Day every 21 April, Agrianita IPB held the Skin Health Seminar on Psoriasis, Monday (21/4), in Auditorium Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK), Campus of IPB Dramaga, Bogor. Attending as the resource person was dr. Danang Tri Wahyudi, SpKK from Yayasan Peduli Psoriasis Indonesia (YPPI).

 

In his presentation, dr. Danang analysed that psoriasis was one of the autoimun disease on the skin. Characterized by the thickening of the skin like the silvery white scales, thickened reddish colour and itching even burning. When the scales were removed, it would appear bleeding spots on the skin in it.

 

Psoriasis often arouse in nail. At first the white spots were on the nail until the nail thickening. Also about the scalp, marked by wide scales and thickening with a reddish colour that would pass through the hairline. Other than that, psoriasis was also often about elbows and knees.

 

“Psoriasis can affect all ages and genders. This disease is triggered by the environmental factors like stress, alcohol consumption and other disease factors such as infection, immunology, and drugs factor. Psoriasis is the chronic disease thus it is requiring more serious attention and regular skin care continuously,” explained dr. Danang moderated by dr..drh. Rusmini Usman.

 

The activity opened by the Secretary of the Institute (SI) IPB, Dr. Ibnul Qayim, invited many participants. Not only from within but also from outside the campus. One of them was Mr Niko who had come to attend this seminar to seek the solution on psoriasis disease his wife suffered. Agrianita IPB even initiated the formation of a community of psoriasis sufferers and observers in the area of Bogor.

 

Seminar who began a series of warnings of Kartini Day 2014 was also enlivened with the cosmetic product demo of Wardah, hijab tutorial and fashion show of Shafira clothing exhibited by ten mothers of Agrianita. (nm)
