Agrinex Expo 2014
After successfully held Agrinex Expo up to seven times, in the year of 2014, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in collaboration with Performax, Ministry of Agriculture and Coop Indonesia Foundation held 8th Agrinex Expo in Assembly Hall Jakarta Convention Center on 28-30 March. This performance carried out the theme of "Ketahanan Pangan Nasional, Jalan Kebangkitan Pertanian Indonesia" “National Food Security, Awakening Way of the Agriculture of Indonesia”. This activity was conducted in the attempt to strengthen the potential of horticulture of Indonesia that strengthened the food security by optimizing the land and lessening the risk of the land conversion throughout Indonesia. Agrinex Expo 2014 was opened by Minister of Commerce of Republic of Indonesia, Muhammad Luthfi.
In this exhibition there were 57 stands who participated. One of which was the stand of IPB that displayed various innovations resulted by the researchers. Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc said, "IPB produces so much of the innovation.” In 2008-2013, Ministry of Research and Technology and Business Innovation Center (BIC) stated that the last six years, from 615 of the most prospective innovations in Indonesia as much as 234 were the works of IPB but the challenge was only about 10% of the innovation that was perceived by the society because we needed further stages namely costumization, production trial and commercialization. We proposed the existence of a consistent stage of commercialization. It was necessary to have the institution consistently to provide support for the stages of business incubators and major capital provision for example.
"Agrinex Expo 2014 is the vehicle that is expected to exchange of information and experience, develop the innovation, implement it, and build various cooperation activities. Insya Allah, this will be the way for our Nation to be the advanced and prosperous nation ", added by the Rector.
Besides the expo, at this moment various talk shows with various themes amongs all were also held: "Kedaulatan Pangan, Bagaimana Mewujudkannya?" “Food Sovereignty, How to Make it Happen?”; "Strategi Menghadapi Perubahan Iklim" “Strategy to Confront the Climate Change”;
"Reformasi Agraria, dan Alih Fungsi Lahan" “Agrarian Reform and Land Transfer Function”; "Taman Kota Bertani di Tengah Kota" “Farmed State Parks in Central City”; "Biodiesel, Pertanian Sahabat Lingkungan" “Biodiesel. Agricultural Friends of the Environment”; "PKBL Penyelamat UKM Agribisnis" ”PKBL Rescuer of UKM Agribusiness”.
A number of resource persons of IPB presented in the talk show were among others: Dr. Ernan Rustiadi, Prof.Dr. Yonny Koesmaryono, Dr. Bambang Sulistyantara, Dr. Arif Satria, Prof. Dr. Erliza Hambali; and Prof. Dr Hardinsyah. (RF)
