Visit of Lancaster University to IPB
On Wednesday, Team of Lancaster University, United Kingdom visited to Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). The group led by Vice Rector for the Field of International, Lancester University, Prof. Steve Bradley, aimed to identify the opportunities for the cooperation with IPB related to student mobility and joint research. Team of Lancaster was accepted directly by Rector of IPB accompanied by Vice Rector for Research and Cooperation of IPB, Vice Rector for Means and Business of IPB, Director of Cooperation and International Program of IPB and Head of Sub Directorate of International Cooperation.
The meeting was continued by more detailed discussion of the opportunities for the cooperation. Some unique topics in Indonesia like the wealth of biodiversity and volcanoes were offered as the focus of research collaboration for both sides. Seminar or workshop to develop a research proposal together needed to be scheduled for following up the research cooperation. Moreover, it was emphasized that the research proposal was designed to address the real problem in the field, for example related to flood. Whereas, the summer course could be used as the media to start the student mobility between IPB and Lancaster.
