IPB Establishes Cooperation with Mamasa Regency

Center for Agricultural and Rural Development (PSP3), Institute for Research and Community Service, Bogor Agricultural University (LPPM-IPB) initiated cooperation with the government of Mamasa Regency, West Sulawesi. Eventually, IPB and Mamasa agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the Andi Hakim Nasoetion Building, Darmaga Campus of IPB, Friday (21/2). The cooperation includes the fields of education, research and community assistance in the Mamasa Regency, for example activities in planning the community economic development of and regional tourism development planning the Regency.
 
The signing was done by Rector of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc. and Mamasa Regent represented by Vice Regent, Victor Paotonan. In his speech, Prof. Herry said that this cooperation must be followed by concrete action and does not stop at the ceremonial event. Following up on the directives of Rector, on the same occasion, there was also the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between the Head of Regional Development Planning Board of Mamasa, Drs. Jono Buntukaraeng, MH and Head of PSP3 – IPB, Dr. Ir. Lala M. Kolopaking, MS. "The point of emphasis is on the community-based commodities and community -based ecotourism zoning," said Dr. Sofyan Sjaf, Secretary of PSP3-IPB. 
 
Present in this important moment were Head and Secretary of Bappeda (Regional Development Planning Board), Assistant Government, Division Head of Kesbangpol Public Relations, Head of Economy Division, Head of Culture and Tourism, Head of Village Government Division,  Head of Government Division, Head of Bapeluh, Head of Regional Natural Disaster Agency, Head of Health Office, Head of Fisheries and Livestock Office, Head of Health Licensing Division, Head of Forestry Licensing Division, and Head of Food Security Office.
