Visual Media for Under Seawater Conservation
Attraction under the sea is very promising. There are many objects of interest to photographers or other visual media . Moreover, today many photographers are keenly working on underwater photography . This is of a positive value for the conservation of the existing life around coral reefs . "Photographers are required not only to be able to capture the beauty but also photograph the occuring problems and in this way we can visualize for the general public those related to what ‘s going on under the sea ," said the reef activist, Eri Damayanti in IPB Agrifuture Expo held for IPB’s 50th Anniversary ( 6/9 ) in Baranangsiang campus of IPB Bogor .
Eri said , many photographers take pictures underwater to show us the beauty of the sea and a visual mage of its damage as well. Eri believes that the role of visual media (photography and film) can be a triggering tool of communication with the public relating to the problems that occurr under the sea .
