IPB’s Innovation Business Meeting at the Moment of 50th Anniversary
"We have a lot of desire to promote the region, but we have limited human resources. Therefore we desperately need campus support. And our experience with IPB since 2004 has made a positive impact on the region." This was said by Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of Tegal Regency, Central Java, Ir. Suharmanto in the IPB’s Innovation Business Meeting to Initiate Food Security and Sovereignty: "Lessons Learned", organized by IPB in collaboration with Bank BRI in the IPB’s 50th Anniversary.
Earlier, in this event, which invited some Heads of Regional Governments, Vice Rector for Research and Cooperation of IPB Prof. Dr. Anas Miftah Fauzi said, this activity is expected to be the meeting point of IPB with regional heads that require innovations for the benefit of their regions.
"Through activity like this, it is expected that IPB will no longer get the frequent question ‘where is IPB?’ when there are a lot of discussions on the imports of beef, soybeans, and so on. However, we would answer that IPB still remains in Bogor, generating a lot of innovation," said Prof. Anas with a joking tone, asserting that IPB as a higher education is not a decision maker.
Besides Head of Bappeda of Tegal, in the plenary meeting guided Dr. Alinda FM Zain, also present as speakers were Director of Cooperation and International Programs of IPB, Dr. Edy Hartulistyoso and an organic vegetable expert of Taiwan ICDF, Mr. Huang Chih Hsien. (Mtd)
