Look Out, Tracker Dog in IPB Agrifuture Expo

Tracker dogs examined drugs and explosives in the area of IPB Agrifuture Expo held by IPB in collaboration with Bank BRI in the 50 Anniversary of IPB. This event was held in the Campus of IPB Baranangsiang, (5/9). These dogs were part of the attraction of the Talkshow titled “Peran Anjing dalam Penanggulangan Kriminalitas / Dog Role in the Crime Prevention”. In addition to detecting the drugs and the explosives, on this occasion, it was also help by the dog attraction of protester anticipation. Not only that, animals that had these very sharp sense of smell were also trained to natural disaster rescue. 

 

Director of Animal Police of the Maintenance of Security Agency (Baharkam) of Police of Republic of Indonesia (Polri), Drs. Affan Rifwanto, said that the increasing number of crimes committed in the middle of society, the more dogs were needed by the police officers. Moreover, forward it would require a lot of efforts of veterinary personnel for the health care for dogs belonged to the Police. For the year of 2014 only, it had proposed around 100 people of animal health workers for the duty to become the veterinarian in the Police of Baharkam of Police of Republic of Indonesia. (d)
