IPB Pioneered the Development of Halal Food

Dozens of students from Madrasah Aliyah Tafrijul Ahkam Cikiray Banten visited Bogor Agricultural University (21/5). They were received in the Meeting Room of LPPM at Andi Hakim Nasoetion Building, Campus of IPB Darmaga. In this visit, the participants received a brief information about IPB and the gait that had been done by IPB both nationally and internationally.

 

 “Of the IPB’s presentation earlier, one of the focuses of IPB is about food. Good food is not necessarily good. It would be very good if the food is really halal. Is IPB already leading there?” asked one of the students.

 

IPB attention to halal food, halal pharmaceuticals, and halal cosmetics was very large. Various researches about halal products were supported by the development of good research methodology and laboratory facilities that supported IPB to answer the challenge the providing of halal products. “Various efforts enthrone IPB as the pioneering university in developing halal food, halal pharmaceuticals, and halal cosmetics with the achievement of Halal Award 2012 from MUI and Ministry of Religious Affairs RI,” said Siti Nuryati, STP, MSi as the resource person.
