IPB helds National Education Day Ceremony on May 2, 2013

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) carried out a Ceremony of National Education Day of 2013, today, Thursday (2/5). The ceremony began at 08.00 am, proceeding solemnly and orderly. Acting as the supervisor of ceremony was IPB Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof.Yonny Koesmaryono.

 

On that occasion Prof.Yonny read the speech of the Minister of Education and Culture, Republic of Indonesia. He delivered the importance of education as a social vaccine and elevator in public life. Both can increase social resilience to avoid the social diseases of poverty, ignorance, and backwardness of civilization, as well as to improve the social status of the community. 

 

"The importance of such roles underlies the selected theme of National Education Day of 2013 "Improving Quality and Ewual Access". The theme is a reflection of the answer to the challenges, problems, and aspirations of the community in setting up a better generation. Education services must be able to reach out all levels of society in line with the principle of education for all regardless of origin, social status, economy, and territory," said Prof.Yonny, quoting the speech of the Minister of Education and Culture of Indonesia. 

 

In the event annoucement was delivered on the recipients of Satyalancana Karya Satya award of 30 Year Service to 4 IPB employees and Satyalancana Satya Award of 20 Year Service to 11 IPB staff. Also announced was  Rector of IPB’s Decree on the achieving studebts in extracurricular activities. (Mtd)
