IPB Deploys 971 students for KKP (Professional Work Course) in 13 Regencies and some Companies

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) will place approximately 972 students for Professional Work in 13 Regencies and several companies. This was announced at the "Breafing Course of the Professional Work", Saturday (20/4) in the Graduation Building Graha Widya Widuda, Bogor. The Professional Work will last for two months from 1 July to 31 August 2013. The thirteen Regencies are Indramayu, Subang, Krawang, Bekasi, Bogor, Brebes, Tegal, Pekalongan, Garut, East Nusa Tenggara, and Cilacap, while the companies the students will visited are PT. Agrolestari and Arutmin.
 
The participants of the professional work include the students of the Faculty of Agriculture (423 people), Faculty of Human Ecology (338 people), Faculty of Economics and Management (194 people), and the Faculty of Animal Husbandry (16 people).
 
"The theme of the professional work this year is Improving Life together with Communities to Realize the Capacity towards Independency. IPB is not the only university to carry out the professional work but other colleges as well," said Vice Chairman of LPPM IPB for the Community Services Division, Dr Ir Prastowo M Eng.
 
According to him, there will be about 21 state universities to be involved in the professional work including 10 student representatives of IPB, located in Aceh Besar.
 
During the professional work, IPB students will conduct a number of activities, such as identification of potential areas, action research, extension, education (courses, training, etc.) and facilitators.
 
This lecture or breafing on the professional work was opened by the Vice-Rector for Research and Cooperation IPB, Prof.Dr. M Anas Fauzi. In his speech, Prof. Anas advised that students of IPB can be a facilitator with the princilples of sovereignty, justice and sustainability.
 
"Do not forget to tell the communuties that in 2015 we will experience a new era, the Asean Economic Community, which is the era of freedom in the sense that all the goods will enter freely, including capital and innovations. This is intended so that people are more ready to face the era and has a strong capacity to deal with it," said Anas. (Mtd)
