Directorate of Student Affairs, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held an Appreciation Night of IPB Scholarship Donor for the second time (23/11). This time it was held at IPB International Convention Center with the topic "Establishing a Good Partnership for a Better Quality of Education", in which the appreciation was symbolically given to the donors. "On behalf of the Management and all community members of IPB, we would like to express our thanks from the deepest bottom of our heart  to the donors, who have given mental and physical attention and affection so that the students can perform academic activities without any obstacles," said Rector of IPB,  Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc.

On this occasion, the Director of Student Affairs, Dr. Rimbawan described how the scholarships from the donors are given to the students.  The scholarships are granted in various forms of assistance including living expenses, tuition payments, financial aid for entrepreneurship, financial aid for research or completion of final projects, and much more. "The outcome of the scholarship grant is that the recipients do not experience drop-out due to a shortage of educational cost, and they can complete their studies properly and maintain or increase their academic achievement," said Dr. Rimbawan.
IPB Rector said, "On behalf of the students we would like to suggest that this activity can be maintained, and hopefully what we have started can continue. This certainly requires a commitment from all of us. On this occasion I also want to advise that the students not disappoint the donors, please respond in full responsibility by diligently doing the academic activities, graduating on time with good achievement. "

Some testimonials from some students also enlivened the event. "The scholarship in IPB has made me go beyond the limitation of my intention to promote Indonesia agriculture," wrote Ahmadun, a student of the Department of Food Science and Technology. Another touching remark comes from Dwi Citra Sari, a student of the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, "In the past a free education was only a dream for me. But now, the financial aid for the studies in IPB has answered all that." The event was also enlivened by the performance of Saman dance, poetry readings and songs by IPB students. (Mtd)
