In order to arouse the awareness among students and public to adopt environmentally friendly lifestyles through reduction of disposable packaging, the Directorate of Student Affairs in collaboration with Kompas dan Tupperware   organized the Exhibition on Green Living and Youth Creativity themed IPB Green Living Movement in Graha Widya Graduation (GWW) IPB, on 1-2 June 2012.

The Director of student affairs, Dr. Rimbawan,  in his opening remarks expressed  that overcoming the waste problems  needs the attention from everyone. Currently as many as 8700 plastic wastes per day are transported from IPB campus. This is a common problem for us, threfore, we have to reduce use of disposable plastic. He called for students to do positive activities by promoting green environment like this continuesly. He further acknowledged the support of Kompas dan Tupperware. "Hopefully, such activities to love nature will be organized continuously and continuesly get external support of companies," said Dr. Rimbawan. With such activity it is expected to arouse the awareness of public at large to reduce the use of disposable plastic or stereofoam. Dr. Rimbawan ensures that visitors are people who love nature and will always keep the environment green.
 
In addition to the environmental-themed photoes exhibition, the event also performed some dances by IPB students. Not only that, in front of the GWW building the Organizing Committee also built a specific stand to show  and remind visitors on the effect  of plastic wastes for  our future generations. In that specific stand the visitors will see and experience the  two atmosphere, the beautiful and clean environment which later on become disgusted with some filth, the spread of the diseases, and lack of clean water. This activity have attracted  many elementary students from around the Darmaga campus. (Wied).
