Four Principles of IPB in Developing of Posdaya

After carrying out the Observation Study Tour (OST) to Posdaya “Bina Sejahtera” Pasir Mulya (12/5), the representation group from six Universities in West Sumatra were accepted by Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) at Andi Hakim Nasution Building, Campus of IPB Dramaga, Bogor. Several students from Ikatan Pelajar Mahasiswa Minang (IPMM) Bogor joined in to be presented in this program. Go along in this group, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hermasnyah, MS, Chairman of Community Service Institution (LPM) Andalas University.

In this program, a discussion was organized to listen to opinion from the representation of six Universities in West Sumatra after carrying out the OST to Posdaya “Bina Sejahtera”. Talking about the visit to Posdaya “Bina Sejahtera”, Ir. Zasmeli Suhaemi, MP from Tamansiswa University of Padang evaluated that to be able to survive for five years was the thing that was extraordinarily uncommon for Posdaya “Bina Sejahtera”.

There were four principles which were always controlled by IPB in developing of this Posdaya. Vice Head of Service to Community of Institute of Research and Community Empowerment (LPPM) IPB, Dr. Ir. Prastowo, M. Eng in his explanation revealed, “In developing this Posdaya, IPB has proclaimed four principles that always we control, whatever its activity. The first principle is that we put forward the innovation. The second principle is that we rest on the local superiority. The third principle is that how this program can continue in every activity which its top player is the community. The four principle is that every activity which we carry out always we carry on to produce a model in order to be able to be applied”. (rf)
