Social Strata of Farmers was the Source of Her Inspiration

Silsila Yusnita Warda (18) is an outstanding student of SMAN 10, Malang. She  recently won the 3rd   winner for the “Lomba Menulis Inspiratif Pertanian 2012” (2012 Inspiring Writing Competition)  organized by Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). Her article on “Menjaga Agraria”  was inspired by the daily life phenomenon she learned while she was on the way to her school in Malang. In her oppinion,  plenty of farmers working on the same farmlands in Malang regency, but they have different social strata. Their different status are caused by their different educational background. Thus, the higher their educational background, the higher their social strata.

Yusnita was born in a harmonious family. Her father is an enterpreneur who is  aware on the important on education. Both of her parents are very supportive in her education including the extracurricular activities she engaged.  This fortunate girl who is interested in composition is also fond of reading newspapers. The rubric she is interested in are literature and the educational development in Indonesia.

In her  presentation, the student who wrote articles on agriculture and culture of Indonesia showed her interest to pursue her higher learning education at Bogor Agricultural University.  She expressed her  enthusiasm to go to the  Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agricultural Technology of Bogor Agricultural University, as she is interested in  food processing. In addition, she is also fan of many young entrepreneurs graduated from the University.

Many achievements have been made by the girl whose favorite book is “Yang Mengenal Dirinya Yang Mengenal Tuhan” written by Jalaludin Rumi. One of which were Honorable Mention Award, of U.S. Department of State, and Global School Net. With regard to the Indonesian agriculture in her  oppinion that, "Some people think that agriculture as something dirty and muddy, but far beyond that, agriculture is critical for the advancement of the nation".
