Timor Leste explored Possibility to Establish Educational Cooperation
The delegates of Democratic Republic of Timor Leste visited Bogor to explore possibilities to establish educational cooperation with state universities in Indonesia, especially with Bogor Agricultural University, on Tuesday, 1st May 2012, at Darmaga campus.
Civil Service Commission, Ministry of State Administration of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste, Jesuina MF Gomes, MPA said that her visit to Bogor Agricultural University was to follow up the signing of cooperation between the two countries. "Our visit is to follow up the cooperation between the two countries to explore opportunities for cooperation at the institutional level. This year we planned to improve the quality of the resources of the state apparatus to pursue their graduate studies that are relevant to their fields, "said Nina, so Jesuina usually called.
Nina was accompanied by two staff of the Ministry of State Administration of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste to enquaried on courses, tuition fees, class schedules, medium of instruction for courses, facilities and everything pertaining to graduate school. "Our country will shoulder the entire costs of the intended education," said Nina.
Further Nina stated that at the same time, two other groups of Timor Leste were sent to to explore possibilities to establish educational cooperation with state universities in East Java and Central Java. "We are collecting information on various study programs to suit the needs of our country. Specifically for agriculture, we hope to cooperate not only related to education, but also on research, "says Nina.
Vice Rector for Research and Cooperation of Bogor Agricultural University, Prof. Anas Miftah Fauzi, said that the cooperation might be expanded into the areas of improved institutional capacity building. "Basically we are delighted to be working with Timor Leste. For terms or agreements of cooperation and technical implementation will be discussed further with the Graduate School, Directorate of Administration and Education, as well as the Office of International Programs, "explained Prof. Anas.
