Students Ummul Quro High School Play with Tomcat in IPB
Ummul Quro Islamic High School of Bogor visits IPB. A group of students were accepted in the Meeting Room of Plant Protection Department, Faculty of Agriculture in Darmaga Campus of IPB, (4/4). Headmaster of the High School, Ari Ariansyah, SPd said that this arrival is to implement the school’s semester program of providing an overview of activities in higher education and getting information about the channels of IPB’s student admissions.
Further, according to Ari, actually the program of providing the direction known as Advanced Study Guidance to the student is carried out later when students are in Grade 10, but often the students are still confused about the choices of further education, so the school feels it is necessary to carry out the program “Go to Campus. Through this program students are expected to more confident to make a choice in their future education, he said.
Ari hopes after this visit some of his students can enter IPB. Similarly, the Head of Public Relations, Ir. Henny Windarti, MSi said that the chance for the students with high leadership skills to enter IPB is widely open. On that occasion, Siti Nuryati, STP, MSi, IPB’s resource person, in his presentation explained the seven reasons that make IPB as a choice of higher education.
The enthusiasm of the students appeared as Dra. Dewi Sartiami, MS, a lecturer from the Department of Plant Protection IPB showed Tomcat, the insect currently discussed a lot by the public and the media. The students took turns to let the insects crawling on their hands. The demonstration of playing with Tomcat is intended to give understanding to the students that Tomcat is actually not something to worry about excessively. (Mtd)
