The Language Training Unit, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB,) in cooperation with a Turkish semi- government culture agency, PASIAD, opened a Turkish Language Course. This adds to the existing language courses in the Unit, namely Arabic, English, Japanese, Mandarin, French, and Korean.
 
The opening of the Turkish language training was conducted IPB Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof Dr Yonny Koesmaryono accompanied by Head of Language Training Unit Prof Dr Hasyim Bintoro at Dramaga campus of IPB on Tuesday (14/2). Meanwhile, from the Turks present in the opening were the Culture Coordinator of PASIAD Recep Atmaca and Senior Adviser Cumhur Cil.

This event together with "Turkish Day" was quite attracting the attention of the IPB academic communities with the dynamic music accompanying traditional dances, exhibits of Turkish cultural aspects, and a variety of Turkish cuisine. To show the excellences of Turkey in the field of education, also a movie was played informing the various universities of the country.
 
Prof Yonny on the occasion said that with such cooperation of both parties, in the future it can be developed in other forms.
 
"Both countries have a culture of a similar background, namely Islam, which will facilitate cooperation," said Prof. Yonny.
 
Prof Yonny added that so far the cooperation with the Muslim countries has been mostly carried out with those in the Middle East region. However, the cooperation with Turkey will introduce a new color as Turkey is of partly European-based culture.
