MAN 3 (State Islamic Senior High School 3) of Palembang Visits IPB

A group of students of (MAN 3 Palembang visited IPB. They were welcome in the Meeting Room of the Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM) in the Darmaga campus of IPB, (31/10). In addition to getting more knowledge, the visit is to give an overview of tertiary education to the Grade-11 students. So was said by the headmaster of MAN 3 Palembang, Ustad (religious teacher) Azwandi. He also told that the Grade-11 students are those of the accelerated class in the school.

Ustad Azwandi does not deny that previously the students thought that agriculture is identical to something dirty, but after listening to the explanation of the resource person from the Public Relations and Protocol, Executive Secretary of IPB, Siti Nuryati, STP, MSI about the wide scope of agriculture, the students understand that how very extensive and highly related agriculture is to other sciences or disciplines. One student said that his interest to study at IPB is very high, especially after he knows that his area has potential in the field of fisheries.

Then, the group visited the Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture IPB to take a further look at products of food technology resulting from innovations by IPB. (Mtd)
