The Koperasi Pojok Alumni Mahatani Provided Funding Supports for Orphans

Batch 14 of the Bogor Agricultural University Alumni who involves in the management of Koperasi Pojok Alumni Mahatani granted funding supports for about 60 (sixty) orphans in Bogor. The hand over of the grants was carried out at the Halal Bihalal dan Santunan Anak Yatim Angkatan 14, at the Mahatani Cooperative, on 25 September 2011, at Baranangsiang Campus.

Chairman of the Koperasi Pojok Alumni Mahatani, Mr. Gun Sutopo, said in this special event, that the hand over of the funding support for orphans are deliberately carried out coinside with the cooperative’s annual meeting of the Koperasi Pojok Alumni Mahatani.

We generally organize the annual meeting each year to report the annual work programs of the  Mahatani cooperative. This year is the second of its kind, and during the second year under review the cooperative have made achievements. In addition, the cooperatives also has employed the professional manager. It is expected the new manager will direct the cooperative to be more prosperous, "he said

He expressed that the total number of  alumni  who have joined the co-operative is  85 (eighty five)  only, it is too far compared to the total number of alumni who are at present has  reached 80.000 (eighty thousand).

Scholarships is part of the regular programs of the coopersatives. Mahatani annually grants 14 (fourteen) scholarships for  students who have achieved best performance but they from less fortunate families.  .

"Scholarships provision is one of our programs, and the one we administer is “Prestige Scholarships”. The provision of scholarships in addition to be functioning as the media for the relationships between the alumnus, it is also utilized as the funding support for students who have achieved best performance but they are coming from less fortunate families, "stated Ms. Mimi Santika the officer in charge for scholarships.
