Field Work Program (KKN) of Family Empowerment Post at the Universities of West Java and Lampung Area
Human Resource Development Centre (P2SDM,) Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) IPB, has successfully developed a number of Family Empowerment Posts (Posdaya) in some areas of Bogor, Cianjur and Sukabumi through the Field Work (KKN) of students, and now a number of universities in West Java and Lampung are invited for the first time to participate in the development of Posdaya through the field work of their students. The development of human resource and Posdaya through the student field work was discussed in the meeting for the Coordination of Human Resource Development Program and Posdaya of the regions of West Java and Lampung, in Baranang Siang Campus of IPB, Bogor, (6 / 6).
The participating universities were Ibn Khaldun University of Bogor, Pakuan University of Bogor, Surya Kencana University of Cianjur, Subang University, UNSIKA of Karawang, University of Lampung, UNWIR and UMMI Sukabumi.
Dr.Ir. Pudji Mulyono said in his speech that these universities are going to involve more than 200 students to do the field work from around June to August. It is expected the field work activities at each university are based on the development of Posdaya.
Drs. Mazwar Nurdin of the Damandiri Foundation hope the participation of universities can increase the number of the Family Empowerment Posts (Posdaya) in Indonesia. "Not only are they formed, but they can also run, and thus indirectly increasing people’s income," he explained.
Further, Dr Ir. Pudji Mulyono says IPB is ready to provide briefings for the faculty members (lecturers) and students who will take the Field Work (KKN). Along with the event, a book entitled “101 Ways to Know Posdaya” published by IPB Press was launched. This book is the work of the P2SDM team of IPB. (Mtd)
