A group of students from the Vocational School of IPB University has developed a creative business unit focusing on visual content provision and creative agency services. The business, branded as Sutoori Production, caters to various digital media needs such as photography, videography, graphic design, and animation.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sutoori Production, Irham Maulana Johani, explained that the chosen name for his creative agency holds its own philosophy. He revealed that the name Sutoori is derived from the English word ‘story’, but is pronounced with a Japanese accent.

“This name was initially chosen because we want to capture moments and preserve stories through our works,” said Irham, who is also a student of the Software Engineering Technology Study Program at the Vocational School of IPB University.

Sutoori Production offers services including the creation of yearbooks, company profiles, event documentation, graduation photography, as well as brand identity and logo designs. Sutoori Production has also ventured into the animation field through motion graphics for brand advertising needs. This creative agency targets schools, universities, and business practitioners as their market.

As a newly established creative agency startup, Irham acknowledges the existence of competitors with similar target markets. Nevertheless, he claims that Sutoori Production has the advantage of highly flexible services and pricing that can be tailored to the clients’ needs.

“We have worked on a yearbook creation project for a junior high school (SMP), graduation photos for IPB University students, and a company profile for a candidate pair of an organization at the University of Indonesia. We have also designed a lanyard and a logo for a product,” Irham stated.

Sutoori Production also provides a platform for other students to channel their creative talents. “We want to invite our friends to expand their skills outside of their study programs so that their future career opportunities will be broader and not just fixated on one single field,” Irham explained.

The journey of Sutoori Production became more established after participating in the Student Entrepreneurial Program (PMW) organized by the Directorate of Career Development, Entrepreneurship, and Alumni Relations (DPKKHA) of IPB University. This program provided insights alongside grant funding support.

In running his business, Irham is assisted by a solid team with educational backgrounds that strongly support the sustainability of this creative enterprise, which initially transformed from a hobby. Besides Irham, the other Sutoori Production crew members are Bunga Azelia as Chief Financial Officer, Reffy Rizky Ikman Rizaldi as Chief Operating Officer and Director of Photography, Saskia Salsabila as Chief Marketing Officer and Social Media Manager, Khinanti Angelita Puteri as Director of Graphic Design, and Ario Elnino as Social Media Manager and Photography Crew.
