Hambaro Village, Nanggung Subdistrict, Bogor Regency, holds promising local economic potential, particularly in the livestock sector and micro, small, and medium sized enterprises (MSMEs).

This abundance of resources opens up significant opportunities for the development of value added products. Unfortunately, this potential has not been fully realized due to limited market reach and marketing strategies that have yet to be scaled up.

In response to this situation, the IPB University Student Organization Capacity Building Program (PPK Ormawa) team from the Animal Science and Technology Student Association (Himaproter) launched the Baharo (Hambaro Village Bazaar) program.

Baharo is the final installment of Himaproter’s PPK Ormawa program, serving as a platform to showcase Hambaro Village’s various flagship products while also acting as a promotional tool through direct interaction between business owners and visitors.

Baharo showcased a variety of products resulting from community empowerment efforts, including organic plant fertilizers and KREAWOL products bearing the HAMWARA label, as well as products from local small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Hambaro Village.

“These products were introduced to visitors as a way to utilize local potential and resources that can be developed into economically valuable products,” said one of the team representatives, Arsye Matullah Widianto.

Through this event, he continued, the community also had the opportunity to directly observe visitors’ interest and reactions to the products on offer.

The Baharo event was attended by several organizations, including the Bogor Regency MSME Office, the Nanggung Forum, and the Bogor Regency Fisheries and Livestock Office. The presence of these various parties was part of an effort to strengthen collaboration in supporting the potential and product development of the Hambaro Village community.

In addition to the bazaar, Baharo also featured an Appreciation Stage as part of the event series. The stage showcased various artistic performances and community talent displays, the screening of an after-movie by the PPK Ormawa Himaproter team, and a symbolic closing ceremony with Hambaro Village Chief H. Firdaus. This series of events served as a token of appreciation for the community and various parties who contributed to the program’s implementation.

Arsye noted that the Baharo event was not solely focused on buying and selling transactions but also served as an opportunity for the community to gain insight into the market’s response to the products they produce.

“Direct interaction with visitors can provide valuable input for business owners in improving product quality, determining marketing strategies, and expanding their market reach in the future,” he added.

Through Baharo, the PPK Ormawa Himaproter team aims to strengthen the economic potential of Hambaro Village by promoting local products and expanding market access.

“This event is expected to enhance the competitiveness of community products while fostering collaboration among students, the community, business owners, and various supporting parties to create a more self reliant and sustainable village economic ecosystem,” he hoped. (*/Rz) (IAAS/WSG)
