Papilio memnon
Special characteristics: P. memnon is a member of the Papilio genus that exhibits sexual dimorphism, with males and females having different wing patterns. Males have predominantly black wings with a bluish-gray tinge on the edges of their upper wings. Females found on the IPB Dramaga Campus are known to have three color patterns, the first being white or yellowish, filling the space between the veins of the front wings. Behavior: P. memnon is active in the early afternoon and is commonly found on the IPB Dramaga campus.
General distribution: Indo-China, India, China, Taiwan, southern Japan, Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Java, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, and Maluku.
