Indonesia is the potential coffee producing country. But the native coffee from Indonesia areonly being enjoyed by the importer countries of the Indonesian coffee. It was  stated by coffee entrepreneur, IgnMahendraKusuma in the Talkshow "Cup of Java" as a series of IPB Agrifuture Expo, that was held during the 50th Anniversary of IPB which is held jointly be IPB and BRI Bank, on 6 September 2013. 
 
"Taste of the good quality coffee is sour, not bitter. However, in the opinion of most Indonesian, the taste of coffee is bitter. The bitter taste is actually the low quality coffee, "said Mahendra. "But let us ask the flavorcoffee to the English, they surelywould respond sour," he added. In addition, he added that the original Arabica coffee beans price could reach Rp. 1 000 000/kg, this high price is due to its flavor.
 
With regard to the development of Luwak coffeeor civet coffee, Ahmad Soedarsan, researchers at the Indonesian Coffee Research Centerexpected that IPB will innovate to develop Luwak coffee without using Palm Civet (Paradoxurushermaphroditus). Instead IPB should produce specific enzymefrom Palm Civet as those that have been practised in Vietnam. "Or producing Luwak Coffee by Palm Civet, means every coffee farmers will have Palm Civetsas their domestic pets," he said.(Wied).
