Vice President too Took Opportunity to Taste the Analog Rice

Few  minutes  before presenting  his scientific oration  in the Open Session of  the 49th Anniversary of  IPB at Grha Widya Wisuda, Dramaga campus, Bogor,  on Tuesday, 25 September 2012, Vice President of Indonesia, Prof. Dr.  Boediono, took the opportunity to taste  nasi tumpeng (rice cone) made of analog rice, at the mini-exhibition held at the lobby of Andi Hakim Nasoetion, Rectorate Building. Although he did not comment anything, but his face showed satisfaction with the flavors of the artificial rice.

Not only that, previously the Vive President  hold  a bunch of Raja Buluh bananas, a new variety bred by Pusat Kajian Buah Tropika (Tropical Fruit Research Center – PKBT) of Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (Institute for Research and Community Service  – LPPM) IPB. This exotic bananas, according to the head of PKBT, Dr Sobir,  to the Vice President  is good for  diabetics patients.

Various cosmetics  products, honey, jamu  (traditional medicine)  produced by IPB researchers, had also attracted the Vice President, Prof. Dr.  Boediono.  Whereas for soybean variety   presented by its expert,  Prof. Dr. Munif Ghulamahdi, Vice President has requested to meet him for the special talk, while he proceeds  for further study program of this variety.

Dr. Nurul Khumaida of the Directorate for Research and Strategic Studies of IPB who guided the mini expo, said that the Vice President was  very optimistic about the results of research innovation of IPB. "Vice President Boediono requested  that the products of the research program of IPB be disseminated, in addition to commercialize them for funding support," said Dr. Nurul repeated what the Vice President has stated. On this special event,  the Vice President was accompanied by Minister of Education and Culture of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nuh, Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Suswono, West Java Governor, Mr. Ahmad Heryawan, and Rector of IPB,  Prof Dr Herry Suhardiyanto.
