Arts and Culture Festival of IPB 2012

In the 49th Dies Natalis, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held the Arts and Culture Festival of IPB 2012 (22/9). This activity was conducted in three places, which were in Auditorium Andi Hakim Nasution (AHN), Auditorium of Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Auditorium Thoyib Hadiwidjaya. The opening procession of this activity was done in Auditorium Andi Hakim Nasution. The program of this Arts and Culture Festival of IPB 2012 was symbolically opened with the beating of gong by Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc.

Various elements at IPB participated in this activity, like showing reog of West Java which was staged a number of academic staff and Campus Security Unit (UKK) IPB. Rector also participated to sing a Sunda song accompanied by Agrianita IPB. Rector stated, “This Arts and Culture Festival of IPB is one of the series in the activity of the 49th Dies Natalis IPB.”

“This activity is done in the attempt to appreciate the culture of the nation particularly in Sunda land. The appreciation toward arts and culture becomes the important part from our attempt to understand many advices, living principles existed in our country and also in Sunda land, including to become the important part from the education effort of character” said Rector.

Arts and Culture Festival 2012 will reappear in the closing moment of Dies on 30 September 2012. In the program, it will be performed the musical arts of “the 9th Ki Sunda Midang” which will be played by Unit of Student Activity of the Arts of Sunda Gentra Kaheman IPB. (RF)
