Alumni of the Faculty of Forestry IPB Returned to Campus

More than 800 alumni of the Faculty of Forestry of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in throngs attended the Peak of Returned to Campus Day of Alumni of the Faculty of Forestry IPB (HAPKA) XV 2012, Saturday (15/9). This HAPKA XV in the Year of 2012 raised the theme of ”Pembangunan Hutan dalam Transisi, Meraih Kembali Kejayaan Hutan Sebagai Pilar Ekonomi dan Penyangga Kehidupan”. Currently, the Faculty of Forestry IPB had graduated around 6,000 alumni.

“HAPKA becomes the event to meet and greet of alumni and the vehicle of consolidation among alumni to engender the thoughts which will be contributed to the related parties particularly to the government in this case the Ministry of Forestry,” said Chairman of the Committee of HAPKA XV, Ir. Mintarjo, MMA.

Prior to the top program, HAPKA began with the series of activities starting from Bakti Sosial Rimbawan Peduli 10 August 2012, Fun Bike 8 September 2012, Workshop and Book Review 12-13 September 2012. Peduli Rimbawan was implemented in the last Ramadhan 1433H as the vehicle to be shared among alumni to the almamater and the community around the campus. Fun Bike was followed by around 500 alumni.  On 12-13 September 2012, the alumni contributed idea and thoughts through Book Review and Workshop titled Menemu Kenali Pengungkit Sistem Pembangunan Kehutanan which was organized at IPB International Convention Center (IICC).

“This HAPKA XV coincides with half a century of the presence of IPB as the People Campus, where there is the Faculty of Forestry which has produced more than 6,000 foresters which at the moment has spread throughout our homeland,” said Dean of the Faculty of Forestry IPB, Prof. Dr. Bambang Hero Saharjo.

Secretary General of the Ministry of Forestry, Dr. Hadi Daryanto representing the Minister of Forestry, Zulkifli Hasan, conveyed that in line with the theme which was raised, the forester of the Alumni of the Faculty of Forestry IPB was demanded to participate in facing the future challenge i.e. integrating the economic and environment interests in the development of Indonesia. “The forester assumes the responsibility to be always playing active role in maintaining the forest preservation. Not only about its existence, but also from the point of the expediency of result, function and role both economically, ecologically and socially.  Economically, the forestry must be able to contribute the foreign exchange and the employment,” said Hadi. In the occasion of HAPKA, Alumni of the Faculty of Forestry IPB handed over the fruit seedling to 17 villages around the campus and the scholarships to students and lecturers with achievement. Also selected was the Chairman of the Assemblage of Alumni of the Faculty of Fore stry IPB of 2012-2015 Periods, Bambang Hendroyono, and the Secretary General of the Assemblage of the Faculty of Forestry IPB, Didiek S Hargono.
