IPB held back the graduation and conferment of diploma stage V in the academic year of 2011/2012 toward 800 graduates from nine Faculties in IPB.  The program was held in Grha Widya Wisuda, (4/7).  Dr. Joshian  Nicolas William  Schaduw, S.IK, M.Si (28 years), the best graduate of the doctoral program of IPB in this graduation period revealed his impression toward becoming the student of IPB.  “IPB is one of the best universities in Indonesia and I am optimistic that IPB can compete to become the best in Asia. Therefore, after finishing the study S2 I l am directly interested to continue my study at IPB. Besides the science competence which is obtained in accord with the need to be the teacher, IPB provides the separate attraction for the study program of Coastal and Marine Resource Management (SPL). SPL graduate is not only prepared for becoming the good teacher but also is given the applicable knowledge for the direct role in the maritime development of Indonesia,” he said when being interviewed by the reporter of Buletin Pariwara Wisuda of IPB.

“The intensive guidance system and the high level of accuracy from the initial supervisor make me inconvenience to adjust, but finally I am aware that all done are the process for the direction of success.  This is proved by the time of study S2 which I can take in 20 months with IPK 3.80 and the achievement of value which can be obtained with the work hard and cooperation from all parties related, “ explained by a man of Manado birth who worked as Lecturer at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Sam Ratulangi University Manado.

The most memorable thing during taking his education of S3 at IPB was being involved in the making of blueprint of the coastal and marine resources of Riau Islands Province which in this case was the Management of Marine Tourism which was Integrated and Sustainable. Besides that, the open examination which invited the Governor of North Sulawesi , Dr. Sinyo Harry Sarundajang, as the external examiner commission was a breakthrough to synergize between university and local government to collaborate in managing coastal and ocean area which was integrated and sustainable, he said proudly.

“Finally, my message for all students who will and are studying at Campus of IPB is to keep the spirit, strive to provide the best, and never give up.  Remember that the key to success is hard work and cooperation. The luck will be if the readiness is met by chance, and do not ever put off the job. My last message which I quote from the deceased Sumitro Djojohadikusumo is to smile when facing the adversity; courage to challenge the danger; brave in defeat and humbled by the victory and success. Hopefully IPB continues to boom,” he said firmly. (zul/dh)
