Prof. Dr. Eriyatno, the Emeritus Professor of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), was awarded Lancana Satya of Cooperative Development which was handed over by the Vice President, Dr. Budiono,  on the commemoration of the 65th anniversity of the Cooperative Day, on Thursday, 12 July 2012, in Palangkaraya, East Kalimantan. The awards were granted for those who are considered instrumental in the empowerment of Cooperative, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (KUMKM).
 
"Alhamdulillah, finally IPB  has its representative who was granted the award. Of course I am proud of it, because IPB devotion to the community  in the context of cooperatives, small micro and medium enterprises is fiannally appreciated by the government, "said Prof. Eriyatno when he was contacted by cell phone. Prof. Eriyatno was the Professor at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (Fateta) IPB. He is a very productive professor, he wrote several books, some of which were published by IPB Press, namely Ilmu Sistem (1998) and Riset Kebijakan (2007).  Previously, Prof. Eriyatno had been the Dean of Fateta, and  Vice Rector III for Student Affairs.
 
While in the government bureaucracy, Prof Eriyatno, had previously served as Head of Regional I of BAPPENAS (National Development Plan), Expert staff of the Coordinating Minister for Economy, and Deputy for Finance of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs. Currently, Prof. Eriyatno is a member of The International Society of Systems Science and has been the editor of the Journal of Systems Research and Behavioral Science. In addition, Prof. Eriyatno also active in managing the network of experts through the Policy Research Experts-Network (PRE-Net), and the  empowerment of Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) for rural and agricultural as well.
 
With regard to the award granted for him, Prof Eriyatno expected that more faculty members or alumni of IPB who will be active working for the community development through the community empowerment program by increasing the role of cooperatives, small micro and medium enterprises. Prof. Eriyatno believed, that the active involvement of IPB communties in such program will make Indonesia to be more prosperous, stabil and developed. Finally, Prof Eriyatno reminded faculty members and alumni of IPB that they are also required to be instrumental in efforts to achieve national food security based on local resources. (Wied).
