Agrianita IPB Held Tarhib Ramadhan 1433 H

Agrianita IPB held Tarhib Ramadhan 1433 H, Tuesday (10/7), which were packed in form of the recitation by presenting the preacher of Ustadz Dadang Holilullah from Bogor City. The program which took place in Wisma Tamu Campus of IPB Dramaga was attended by the members of Agrianita in the circle of IPB and a number of residents of the village of campus surroundings.
 
Ustadz Dadang provided the enlightenment that in truth Muslims in Indonesia had been wrong in using the word ‘fasting’ for the activity which was done in Ramadhan Month. The reason was, said Ustadz Dadang, the fasting in Sanskirt language had a meaning of ‘torturing yourself’. Whereas in Islam what was meant was ‘restraining oneself’ or shoum.  “Because of that, let’s use the language shoum, not fasting,” asked Ustadz Dadang.  
 
Welcoming Ramadhan which would come, Ustadz Dadang instructed to those who were present for developing the goodness in Ramadhan Month. The message was multiplying the prayer, honoring deeply the parents, multiplying the alms, and silaturrahim.  At the extreme end of talk, it was continued by the session of question and answer. In this opportunity, Chairman of Agrianita IPB, Mrs Enny H Suhardiyanto, set forward one question about alms. Then, Tarhib ended with forgiving each other, forgiving between those who presented. (nm)
