IPB Students to Love Work on Field
Rector of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, MSc released 759 students of Profession Work Course (KKP) and 243 students of ‘IPB Goes to the Field’ (IGTF) 2012. "I hope IPB students love to work on field as this is the philosophy on which IPB is built. Field work is identical to the world of agriculture. We can get together with the communities to identify various issues and then find solutions together," said Rector in the ceremony of despacthing the students of KKP and IPB Goes to Field in 2012, Saturday (30/6) in Darmaga campus of IPB.
Executive Chairman of KKP IPB 2012, Dr. Memen Surahman said that annualy IPB conducts KKP as part of its attention to the farming problems of the nation. It is also part of the academic activities. I really hope that the students perform well and maintain the good name of IPB," said Dr.Memen.
Meanwhile, Executive Chief of IPB Goes to the Field 2012, Dr. I Wayan Astika said that in IGTF 2012, thereare ten themes of joint commitment of seven regencies/towns. "These regenccies/towns are Brebes, Klaten, Pekalongan, Kudus, Demak, Batam, Villages in the District of Cigombong, Bogor Regency as well as PT. Arutmin in South Kalimantan," said Dr.Wayan. The IGTF activity began with an assessment of the partner locations in April 2012, followed by the socialization to students on May 26, 2012. After the process of registration and selection, 243 students were taken as participant. They are the students in their fourth semester and above. Dozens of lecturers are involved in this activity as resource persons. (Mtd)
