Leader of Universitas Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZa) Malaysia, Dato’ Prof. Alias Bin Daud, signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rector of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc. The signing program was done in Rector’s Session Room, Andi Hakim Nasoetion Building, Campus of IPB Darmaga, Bogor (20/6).

“Indonesia and Malaysia are one-group countries. Because of a lot of similarities, it is proper that we can work together to increase the people’s prosperity. For example, Indonesia and Malaysia are both as the main producers for the world’s crude palm oil (CPO).  At the moment, the price of CPO is controlled by Europe. Whereas if we are unified, the price of CPO can be controlled by us, and it can increase the community prosperity,” said Rector of IPB in his welcome speech.

In this opportunity, Dean of Faculty of Agriculture and Biotechnology, Prof. Dr. Mat bin Zakaria, explained the meaning and purpose of UniSZA in his visit to IPB. “UniSZa has an unirrigated agricultural field existing in Trengganu. We hope, IPB can help to manage the field for the academic progress at UniSZA,” he said.

Perceiving the wish of UniSZa, IPB through Dean of Faculty of Agricultural Technology (Fateta), Dr. Sam Herodian, suggested that in managing the unirrigated agricultural field we could use the agricultural mechanization. Another suggestion was also conveyed by the management of IPB who were presenting to witness the signing of MoU like Dr. Naresworo Nugroho, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Sulaeman, and Drh. Agus Setiono. (zul)
