Cihideung Ilir Resident Needed Micro Financial Institution
After four times of Friday Tour which was organized by the Institute of Research and Community Empowerment, Bogor Agricultural University (LPPM-IPB) in Cihideung Ilir Village, on Friday (1/6), it appeared to be many changes happening there. Not a bit the increase of prosperity was felt by the people of Cihideung Ilir since the implementation of the Friday Tour. “I thank you very much to IPB which always cares and has organized the Friday Tour. This activity is organized once in a year in our village, but it is very valuable, especially felt by the fatherless children here,” said Head of Cihideung Ilir Village, Atang Suryadimulya. “Through the programs of LPPM IPB, the people can feel the assistance in the entrepreneurship,“ he added.
Perceiving the words of Atang, Dean of Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM IPB), Dr. Yusman Syaukat conveyed that this Friday Tour activity was a part of the attempt of IPB to share knowledge. “During this time, the campus is regarded to be as if the lighthouse lamp, it is capable to light the distant place, but do not light the area in the surrounding. It is expected with the Friday Tour, the campus can slightly contribute to increase the people prosperity,” explained Dr.Yusman.
Vice Head of LPPM IPB for Community Empowerment, Dr.Prastowo, delivered, “Before carrying out the programs, we conduct the identification of problem which is existed in the community. The success of the programs motivates other village to join in the creation of IPB. From 14 villages of campus circumference, now it becomes 17 villages of creation of IPB,” said Dr. Prastowo firmly.
According to Dr. Prastowo, to improve the business of the creation result of IPB, the resident of Cihideung Ilir Village needed the micro financial institution which helped their capitalization. “If the small middle business has a lot to assist, for the micro business it is still not yet existed. There are many people here, only wanted to open the micro business, tangled by bank on wheels or creditor. I hope Dr. Yusman seeks the way out,” said Dr. Prastowo.
On this occasion, Head of Cihideung Ilir Village delivered that he grieved on the tragedy of the shooting which caused the death of two staffs of Campus Security Unit (UKK). “The incident is not only agitating IPB or our community, but also throughout Indonesia, “ said Atang. The Friday Tour was preceded by the giving of tausiyah by Waladan Mardijja, SE.Sy and the giving of assistance to the fatherless child of 21 people. (ris)
