Hundreds of IPB University graduate employers and alumni attended the Employer Meeting, themed “IPB Talent Management Transformation and Responding to Industry Needs,” held at the IPB International Convention Center on Tuesday (11/4).

This event served as a strategic forum to gather input for strengthening the talent management of IPB University students to meet the needs of the world of work and industry.

Rector Prof Arif Satria said that this activity was in line with the direction of campus development towards an Innopreneurial University. IPB University, he said, is committed to building an educational ecosystem that produces adaptive, innovative, and highly competitive graduates.

“IPB continues to develop its curriculum to keep up with the times. After implementing the 2020 Curriculum (K2020) to respond to Industry 4.0, IPB is now preparing for the Society 5.0 era by adding artificial intelligence (AI) elements to the learning system,” said the Rector.

He added that the new ‘K2025’ curriculum focuses on core competencies oriented towards sustainability (green concept), resilience, and adaptability. This step is expected to make IPB University an innovative and widely influential university.

“Since 2020, IPB has implemented talent mapping and the Seven Habits program to shape the character of outstanding students. In addition, IPB also refers to the international version of 10 Core Skills 2025 in talent management,” he said.

To support student development, IPB University has a number of facilities such as the Science Techno Park (STP), which bridges research and industry activities by providing teaching industry laboratories and fostering 498 startup tenants.

“We have an Agribusiness and Technology Park (ATP) that has now established cooperation with 54 industry partners. There are also smart classrooms, Jonggol Innovation Valley, smart greenhouses, and others,” said Prof Arif.

As a special facility for alumni, IPB University provides a reskilling program for graduates who have not been employed within six months. The rector said that the success rate of this program has reached 98 percent.

One of the industry partners, PT Perkebunan Nusantara, expressed its appreciation for the contribution of IPB University graduates who successfully developed an AI chatbot for palm oil commodities.

In addition, a number of partners from the poultry industry also provided input for IPB University to continue to maintain the quality of student input and expand opportunities for outstanding students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Employer Meeting event concluded with an interactive discussion session between IPB leaders, industry partners, and alumni, as a concrete step by IPB University in producing graduates who are ready to face future challenges. (dh) (IAAS/LAN)
