IPB University and Université Paris-Saclay Strengthen Global Research and Education Collaboration
In an effort to strengthen its global network and international research collaboration, IPB University welcomed a delegation from Université Paris-Saclay, France. The meeting, which took place at the IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor (11/4), aimed to deepen cooperation between the two institutions in the fields of higher education, research, and sustainable innovation.
The Vice Rector of IPB University for Global Connectivity, Cooperation, and Alumni, Prof Iskandar Z Siregar, said that this visit was part of strengthening strategic relations between Indonesia and France, including in the higher education sector.
“This visit is part of the cooperation between Indonesia and France. As we know, President Prabowo and President Macron have visited each other. Of course, we must support these efforts, one of which is through higher education cooperation,” he said.
Prof Iskandar added that Université Paris-Saclay is a university with an excellent international reputation. “Today we are receiving a visit from Université Paris-Saclay, which has an outstanding reputation, with six Nobel laureates among its faculty,” he added.
He explained that IPB University and Université Paris-Saclay will strive to establish strategic cooperation in various fields.
“We are striving to realize this collaboration between IPB and Université Paris-Saclay through strategic cooperation. This visit is still in its early stages, but IPB has previously collaborated with AgroParisTech, which is part of Université Paris-Saclay,” he explained.
Furthermore, he hopes that this collaboration can also be directed towards future fields, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainability issues. “This collaboration is also expected to open opportunities for IPB alumni and postgraduate students, especially those pursuing a career as lecturers, through a double degree scheme,” he said.
Meanwhile, Prof Rachid Bennacer, Vice President for Research at Université Paris-Saclay, expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome from IPB University. He said that Paris-Saclay sees great potential for collaboration in various fields, such as agriculture, engineering, and pharmacology.
“We are interested in collaborating on research projects, particularly in the field of agricultural engineering,” he said.
He explained that Université Paris-Saclay is one of the best research universities in the world with six Nobel Prize winners. According to the QS World University Rankings 2025, this university is ranked 73rd in the world and 39th in the field of Agriculture and Forestry.
“As a university with world-class facilities, Paris-Saclay has strategic partnerships with research institutions such as CNRS (Centre national de la recherche scientifique),” he explained.
In addition, Université Paris-Saclay also serves as the coordinator of the European University Alliance for Global Health (EUGLOH). “Université Paris-Saclay offers various international mobility and scholarship programs, including more than 350 doctoral scholarships each year,” he concluded.
