Building Synergy, BCA Director: The Role of IPB University Alumni is Very Significant
IPB University and PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday (7/15). This collaboration represents a strategic synergy between the education and banking sectors, aimed at facilitating the payment of single tuition fees (UKT) for students through BCA’s virtual account services.
Vice Rector of IPB University for Global Connectivity, Cooperation, and Alumni, Prof Iskandar Z Siregar, emphasized that the collaboration with BCA is not limited to UKT payments but has been ongoing in various educational activities and alumni recruitment.
“We hope that IPB University alumni recruited by BCA can promote BCA as an excellent place to build a career. Please select outstanding talents from IPB to contribute to BCA’s development toward becoming a world-class bank,” he said.
Furthermore, Prof Iskandar highlighted the importance of education as a strategic sector in national economic growth. He noted that Indonesia’s economic growth remains stable despite global uncertainties.
“We hope that in the next 10 years leading up to Indonesia’s Golden Age in 2045, our growth will be higher, and education will become a sector that contributes significantly,” he said.
BCA Director Antonius Widodo Mulyono stated that this virtual account service innovation is expected to simplify payments for students and parents at any time and from anywhere. This collaboration is part of BCA’s commitment to supporting Indonesia’s education ecosystem.
“These payments are made through a virtual account connected to the IPB system. IPB reconciliation will be easier, and students can pay their tuition fees comfortably, safely, and flexibly,” he said.
According to him, this collaboration is not just about efficiency but also about creating convenience and reliability in payment services to support students’ learning processes. BCA emphasizes that the education sector is a strategic sector that significantly contributes to national economic growth.
During the event, Antonius also highlighted the contributions of IPB University alumni who now hold important positions at the largest private bank.
“There are many IPB University alumni at BCA, including at the regional office head level, division head level, and even the former BCA Commissioner President, Ir Djohan Emir Setijoso, who is also an IPB alumnus,” he revealed.
He added that since the 1998 crisis, the role of IPB alumni at BCA has been highly significant, including in the bank’s recovery and development into the leading private bank it is today.
“It seems almost fated that IPB University and BCA continue to be connected through long-term synergy,” he said.
Antonius hopes that the collaboration with IPB University does not stop at UKT payment services alone. “If there are other needs from IPB that can be synergized with BCA, we are ready to support the development of education and a better future for the nation,” he concluded. (AS) (IAAS/ASY)
