Workshop on Knowledge Exchange, IPB University Presents Delegates of ZMT Bremen and National Chung Cheng University

IPB University’s Maritime, Marine and Fisheries International Research Institute(LRI i-MAR) held a Knowledge Exchange Workshop on Interdisciplinary Maritime, Ocean and Fisheries Science. This activity is a collaboration of LRI i-MAR, Center for Coastal and Marine Resources Studies (PKSPL) and DAMARS.

The speakers were Rebecca Lahl, MSc (ZMT Bremen, Germany), Prof Li-Chuan Liuhuang (National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan), and Dr Sebastian Ferse (BMT Bremen, Germany). All three are DAAD Longterm Lecturer at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK) IPB University. 

In the opening of the workshop, Chairman of i-MAR Prof Luky Adrianto said, “Knowledge is full of uncertainty and continues to grow. This workshop is an important instrument as a way to transfer knowledge and add insight to the audience, in this case marine and related academics, to help understand knowledge.”

In addition, i-MAR Secretary and chief organizer of this workshop, Dr Kustiariyah Tarman also explained, “The Workshop on Knowledge Exchange aims to connect science as the basis of every activity, with social communities and policy makers.”

The Chairman of PKSPL, Prof Yonvitner at the end of the event explained that this moment was not only to share knowledge, but also to strengthen collaboration between marine stakeholders as well as an action plan for collaborative marine research or policy development. (DY/Rz) (IAAS/LAN)
