The Student Association of Student Council President Pathway (Imajatos) IPB University again presented a leadership development program entitled “President of Student Council Goes to IPB”, Wednesday (4/30). This program is a follow-up to the Sharing Stories of Imajatos X Student Council President throughout Indonesia which was successfully held on April 2. 

The President  of OSIS Goes to IPB was designed as an effort to broaden the knowledge of OSIS leaders from various regions in Indonesia about the New Student Admission Pathway for the President of OSIS IPB University.

The activity, which was held offline at IPB Dramaga Campus, presented a series of educational activities such as Campus Tour, visit to IPB Museum, and inspirational speaker sessions. 

“Leadership is not only a talent that is born, but needs to be nurtured properly, and IPB University is present as a companion that not only focuses on academics, but also student development activities,” said Prof drh Deni Noviana, Vice Rector of IPB University for Education and Student Affairs in his keynote speech.

In one of the sessions, the Director of Education Administration and New Student Admission, Dr Utami Dyah Syafitri, directly conveyed information about the student council president pathway.

She said, prospective students who passed through the student council president pathway could get a waiver of the Institution and Facility Development Fee (BPIF) as a form of affirmation for their leadership achievements. 

“This shows IPB University’s commitment in providing inclusive and character-oriented access to education,” she said.

In addition, the Director of Student Affairs of IPB University, Dr Beginer Subhan also gave an explanation regarding the special coaching system applied to students of the OSIS president path. Coaching is focused on specialization in accordance with the field of interest and potential of students. 

Participants also had the opportunity to discuss directly with the President of the Student Executive Board of the Student Family (BEM KM) IPB University who is an alumni of the Student Council Chair.

At the end of the event, the winners of the national essay competition that had previously been held were announced. The first winner was Sayyid Junov Alamsyah from SMAN 2 Kota Sukabumi and received a prize of Rp2.000.000. The second winner was Anisa Nurhaniyah Wandani from SMAN 1 Cileungsi with a prize of Rp1.500.000, and the third winner was Galuh Shella Pandan from SMAN 1 Sumber with a prize of Rp1.000.000.
