Brotherhood Spirit Still Exists

I thought the Javanese said to be hedonic are uncaring. "It turns out my assumption is wrong. Here the spirit of mutual help and brotherhood is very much felt and I am impressed and will make this a valuable experience for us to apply in Musi Rawas," said Chairman of the Working Group 11 of Musi Rawas, Sri Aguslastiana as Head of the Group in the Observation Study Tour (OST) at Posdaya Benteng Harapan, Benteng Village, Bogor Regency, on Thursday (24/10).

 

The Early Childhood Education “Bintang Harapan”, one of the programs of Posdaya Benteng Harapan becomes the attention of the Group. The administrators and teachers of Early childhood Education, who do not get a monthly salary, but they are still willing to educate toddlers (children under five years) in Benteng village, receive appreciation.

 

"Initially, we have had early childhood education, Integrated Service Post (Posyandu) and Integrated Development Post (Posbindu). To access the Puskesmas (Community Health Center) can take a distance of up to 5 kilometers. A few days after IPB Posdaya came to our village, an early childhood education was established. Initially it had only 10 pupils and was conducted in a villager’s house. Now with the support of IPB and the village, it has had 40 pupils and has its own building. We do not incur entrance fee from the pupils," said Mrs. Itje, Head of Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) of Benteng Village representing her husband, Village Chief of Benteng. Management is still dependent on self-funding from the residents. There is no specific funding for early childhood education, Posyandu and Posbindu, she added. 

 

The Group consisted of the Regional Working Units (SKPD) and PKK of Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra and Alkhairaat University, Palu of Central Sulawesi. They were divided into two groups: the first group visited Posdaya Benteng Harapan, while the second group visited the Posdaya Mandiri Terpadu, Cikarawang village. (Mtd)
