IPB Held the International Student Summit

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) and Directorate General of Higher Education (Dikti), Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) of the Republic of Indonesia conducted the International Student Summit on 11-13 November 2012. This event was symbolically opened by Director General of Dikti, Djoko Santoso, at Mahogany Room in Business Management (MB) IPB, Campus of Gunung Gede (11/11). This event was attended by 78 International students from 25 universities in Indonesia, who were the participants coming from 43 countries which scattered from five continents. This International Student Summit titled "International Student Networking Toward International of Higher Education 2012".

Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc, stated, "In particular I say welcome to the participants of International Student Summit especially to the foreign students from overseas as ambassadors from each university throughout Indonesia who attended at Campus of IPB Gunung Gede".

"Based on the data from the Directorate General of Dikti, the number of foreign students studying in Indonesia is increasing from year to year, and the presence of foreign students in Indonesia becomes important for the internationalization of higher education program in Indonesia. The success of foreign students pursuing their education in Indonesia is the enormous potential to promote the international higher education in foreign countries", said Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc

The Rector added, "IPB see the presence of foreign students is very potential for higher education in Indonesia and will be the ambassadors of higher education in Indonesia throughout the world. Then it should be considered the provision of a container for foreign students in order to be able to interact with each other, cooperate and mutual support to increase the success both in the fields of academic, research, and social and environment. According to the objective, IPB has facilitated the formation of the International Student Forum in 2010 to optimize the role of supporting institution of the foreign students in support of the success of education in Indonesia".
