Viewfinder Mission Accomplished
Tutorial activity was the routine activity which was held by the Department of Academic and Scientific of Viewfinder Circle of Friends with a direct mandate from the Directorate of Student Affairs. The tutorial activity covered the giving of materials and additional exercises related to existing courses at the Education First Common Year Program (TPB). The tutorial activity of Midterms (UTS) period for the class of 49 was commenced on 17 September 2012 and ended on 10 October 2012. The subject being taught during activities consisted of base of mathematics, introduction to mathematics, general economic, public sociology, and chemistry.
As being experienced by other students, the students receiving the viewfinder were not uncommonly experiencing the academic problems, much less the students of TPB where the students were still in their adaptation or transition from the phase of student to become university student, so the tutorial of viewfinder was expected to be able to help the students of IPB of the viewfinder recipients of class of 49 in understanding the subjects which during this time were regarded to take a long time in understanding them.
The tutorial schedule for viewfinder was divided into three times a week. On Monday and Thursday, the subjects being taught were introduction to mathematics and base of mathematics. On Tuesday and Friday, the subject being taught was general economic. On Wednesday and Saturday, the subjects being taught were public sociology and chemistry. The distribution of tutorial schedule was intended in order that the tutorial participants could follow the whole subjects being tutored, in accordance with the existing subjects in the first semester at the education first common year program. The tutorial viewfinder in every meeting was implemented for two hours. The teachers who become tutors in the tutorial viewfinder were the students who were grantees of viewfinder from the class of 47 and the class of 48. The election of teacher from the student of viewfinder was the form of devotion of the viewfinder student for another viewfinder recipient. Besides that, with the teachers who were the students of viewfinder recipients also were intended in order the students of viewfinder of the class of 49 were more excited for achievement in the academic areas.
The tutorial participants not only listened and paid attention to the teachers, but they also actively asked and worked on the problems given by the teachers. In the end of the tutorial meeting, it was always held the test to examine the understanding of tutorial participants and with this test was also intended to find out the participants who needed special attention to increase their understanding. This viewfinder mission had the jargon of “Aiming the Achievement to Build the Country”. (dna-BM)
