The Oath Taking of 18 New Veterinarians of IPB
The Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Dr. drh. Sri Hadi Agung Priono has graduated 18 new Veterinarians, on Wednesday, 21 September 2012, at Dramaga Campus, Bogor. After the inauguration, the new veterinarian have been undertook the oath taking as veterinarian. The oath taking program was attended by the Chairman of the Indonesian Veterinary Association, Dr. Wiwik Bagja and their parents / guardians. The 18 newly inducted veterinarians has added the total number of veterinarians produced by Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of IPB, into 3282 alumni who work across the nation. In welcoming the new vets, IPB Rector, Prof.Dr.Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc., at Grha Widya Wisuda stated that the moral responsibility of professional veterinarians must be well maintained.
"As a veterinarian you are required to uphold the existed code of conduct. Violations of the code of conducts will certainly be presecuted. Therefore, the oath taking as a veterinarian has to be carried out to guide you as the newly inducted veterinarians, you have to be stick to the oath you have wowed, "said Rector. On the other hand, the Rector said that the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) IPB is the oldest and a "trend setter" of veterinary education in Indonesia. FKH IPB got a lot of experiences in education, research and community service related to one of these zoonotic diseases.
"In addition, the FKH IPB has also established extensive networks of cooperation with various universities, non-governmental organizations, and companies within and outside the country, one of which is the Research and Management of Zoonoses of Miyazaki University in Japan, the Colorado University in the United States, FAO, UNICEF, Wageningen University , Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Health, BPOM, and various other institutions, "said Rector.
