Dispatching Pilgrim Candidate of PB 2012
IPB Rector, Prof Dr Herry Suhardiyanto dispatched 47 pilgrim candidates from IPB communities, Wednesday (19/9), at the Rectorate Building, Campus Darmaga of IPB Bogor. The number of pilgrims, according to the Chairman of Al-Hurriyyah Caravans Prof Dr HM Bintoro, drops from the previous years. This is so, says Prof. Bintoro, as other pilgrims are likely to be still involved in dealing with the necessary paperwork or administrative matters, thus they had no time to notify the plan of their departure to the holy land.
IPB Rector in his speech apologized for the IPB’s service that may still be felt inadequate by IPB pilgrims. Therefore, in the future, he hopes for great improvement from Al-Hurriyyah caravan in services of pilgrim departure for IPB community members each year.
"In the holy land, please pray for IPB that it would remain conducive to educating students to become bachelors, masters and doctors who posses noble deeds. Pray also that we can all be responsible for managing the state assets," Rector said to the pilgrims.
Earlier, Agus Wijaya, PhD., representing the pilgrims, said, as IPB members they need continuous guidance from Al-Hurriyyah caravan. This guidance, he explained, can strengthen relationship among IPB fellow citizens who are going to the holy land.
This was responded by Chairman of Al-Hurriyyah Caravan Prof Bintoro; he said that today he is designing an activity that lasts throughout the year, namely, a study of pilgrimage. This is not only for those who hold the fixed date of departure, but also for those who are just planning or even still dreaming of the hajj.
"In this way, the impression that the training of Hajj is like the training guidance for taking tests will disappear," said Prof. Bintoro.
The dispatch was also accompanied with religious advice or lecture by Prof. Kudang Boro Seminar. Present on the occasion were Vice Rector for Human Resources and Development Prof Dr Hermanto Siregar, Vice Rector of Business and Communication Dr Arif Imam Suroso, Executive Secretary Dr Bonny PW Soekarno, and Chairman of Agrianita Mrs. Enny Suhardiyanto with its members.
